When you think of pleasure, what do you think of? For many people, years of being disconnected from what they are feeling in their bodies has left them with a diminished capacity for enjoying sex and experiencing pleasure.
To take it a bold step further, many people have lost their ability to find pleasure in everyday activities that are seemingly mundane yet contain the possibility of pleasure within. When was the last time that you stood in nature and connected with the sensation of the wind on your skin? Do you savor every bite of the food the you consume, or do you throw something together quickly and eat it in front of the television or while scrolling the news or social media? The former is a way to connect with sensuous (of the senses) pleasure and the later cultivates a practice of missed opportunities.
If you have experienced a novel traumatic event, developmental trauma, or pervasive trauma, the body can feel like an unsafe place to inhibit fully and consciously. As a result, many people disconnect from their bodies as a way to manage uncomfortable feelings. Unfortunately, along with the suppression of uncomfortable feelings, we also suppress our ability to experience our sexualities as people who are fully connected - in breath - with their bodies.
Through the process of slowing down, connecting with the breath, noticing how all five senses are (or are not) being awakened, you can become an expert in what makes you feel alive. You can enjoy entering into every experience with the mind for discovering the pleasure treasure within.
But wait, isn't this supposed to be about sexual pleasure? YES! By creating new pathways in the brain for various kinds of sensual pleasures that include all five senses - sound, sight, smell, taste, and touch, you be well on the way to expanding your sensual, erotic pleasure.
The goal of the Pleasure Method is to offer you insight into what you find pleasurable in all areas of your life - through discovering what your erotic, sensual self wants and desires. We will try a variety of experiential exercises (that you will choose from a menu of options) which aim to connect you with the felt sense in your body. You can take what you are drawn to and leave the rest. The process is guided by and for you.
You may dance, play, make noice, breath, be bossy, have your self-pleasure be witnessed, engage in pleasure mapping (all over your body, not just "erogenous zones"), enjoy touch for pleasure and education, eat with your hands, gets messy, get neat, engage in communal self-pleasure, and many many other experiential activities! Sound fun? Contacts me today for a complimentary 15 minute information session. More sensual freedom and a new world of pleasure awaits you!
